Since childhood, fiber arts have been one of my passions, offering the joy of transforming simple materials like fabric, yarn, and wool into new, tactile creations. The rhythmic process of weaving, felting, and stitching allows me to explore a delicate balance of structure and freedom, as patterns gradually unfold with each pass of the shuttle or fusion of wool. Nature is my greatest inspiration, infusing my work with its rich textures, colors, and forms. Whether I’m inspired by the vivid hues of a cardinal’s feathers or the subtle patterns in tree bark, I pause to absorb the beauty that surrounds me, letting it guide my artistic choices. In my weaving and fiber work, I seek to capture the intricate details and organic rhythms found in flora and trees, translating their physical presence and colors into tactile expressions. The hands-on, meditative process invites quiet contemplation and connection to the natural world. Occasionally, I combine my fiber practice with my pottery, blending the earthy, sculptural qualities of clay with the softness and patterning of fiber. This interplay deepens my exploration of texture and form, creating pieces that celebrate the harmony between these two mediums.
